Region 5 to Hold Annual Symposium PMI
Region 5 is holding it's annual symposium on 2-5 April, 2008 at the Marriott Conference
Center at the University of Maryland in College Park Maryland. Region 5 represents
project management professionals in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky
and North Carolina. In addition, the PMI chapters in the Delaware valley (Pennsylvania,
Delaware and New Jersey) are also participating in this event. This
year's symposium, "Realizing the Value of Project Management Both Locally
and Globally," is scheduled to include a two-day pre-symposium of

exposure drafts of The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®
Guide) - Fourth Edition, The Standard for Program Management
- Second Edition, The Standard for Portfolio Management - Second
Edition, and OPM3® - Second Edition have
been posted on PMI.org and are
available
for comment. The
comment period will remain open until 22 March at 5:00 p.m. EST (GMT 5).
No comments will be accepted after this date.We encourage all members, volunteers and the greater project management community to take this opportunity to get involved. |

Calls for "Best Projects" in North America PMIs Professional Development department values our components for having a keen eye in recognizing successful projects. Your Best of the Best projects and Projects of the Year have proven to be fine examples of project management discipline.
This year, we are inviting components in the North America region to offer their best projects to be considered for Areas of Focus presentations at the PMI Global Congress 2008North America in Denver, Colorado. The presentations you submit are not being nominated for an award at the North America Global Congress.
Interested in submitting a project for consideration? Please contact Jacqueline.kardon@pmi.org no later than 1 April. Presenters, whose projects are accepted for the congress, will be notified about 30 days from the submission date. |

PMI Metrics SIG Chair Steve Rollins, PMP, will be delivering a series of 10 live, one-hour webinars on the topic of "PMO and the Portfolio: Measuring Towards Value."
