Virtual
Communities Group and the DPC SIG
In
light of the various changes happening within the PMI organization, a
new organization called the Virtual Communities Group (VCG) was put together
in January and held its first meeting launch on March 15, 2007 in Philadelphia.
The objective of this group is to review all the SIG components and their
subgroups (i.e. Local Interest Groups) and examine ways each SIG can better
deliver member value, increase member interests and overall satisfaction.
At the same time ensuring these needs and interests fall into alignment
with the PMI's envisioned goals and strategic objectives. Currently the
VCG is in the planning stages and have identified key points of interest
voiced by various members. As a VCG representative for the DPC SIG, I
will be involved in the various tasks with the VCG and be a voice that
may affect, impact (or improve) the DPC SIG's vision and those of our
overall members. As things progress, I will be sure to keep all of our
members informed as to the events that have occurred - so keep an eye
out for these updates in the Monthly Bulletin and Newsletter. Should you
have any concerns, questions, suggestions, and/or ideas, please do not
hesitate to contact me at membership@dpcsig.org.
Until next time,
Judy Wilks
