PMI® Sacramento Valley Chapter Offers Construction Forums

Essential Project Management:
A Special Series for the Construction Industry


The Sacramento Valley Chapter Construction Forum is a series of important lectures focused on building critical project management skills for Project/Construction Managers. This program is based on PMI® PMBOK® Guide plus the additional skills (Construction Extensions) necessary for successfully managing construction projects. The program consists of 13 lectures which began in
September 2006 and continue monthly (except for the month of December).

Presenters for this program will come from our nation’s top construction companies, as well as government agencies responsible for major statewide projects. If you are interested in being a Construction Forum presenter, please contact the DPC SIG VC Marketing, vcmarketing@dpcsig.org

Construction Extension to the PMBOK® Guide to be Published in Second Quarter 2007

The PMI Standards Department has announced that publication of the Construction Extension to the PMBOK® Guide Third Edition is slated for second quarter 2007.

An announcement will be made on the PMI web site when the Exposure Draft is made available for public review.


Volunteers Needed to Staff the
PMI® Pavilion at ProjectWorld in Toronto

If you are planning on attending ProjectWorld Canada in Toronto,
26-30 March, 2007, please consider volunteering to work at PMI's booth. Work schedules would be limited to two-hours on the afternoon of 27 March, all day 28 March and the morning of 29 March.


If you have a couple of hours to spare and would like to work at the booth responding to inquiries about the DPC SIG, please let us know.

Volunteer to work at the PMI Pavilion.

 

Volunteer Opportunities

The DPC SIG is a volunteer-driven organization. We encourage our members to be actively involved in SIG activities and special projects by:

  • filling leadership positions within the organization: Vice Chairs, Deputies, Committee Members
  • contributing articles to The Project Management Standard newsletter
  • managing special projects
  • working on designated project activities, Local Interest Group (LIG) meetings and professional development conferences

Volunteer today. You will find it most rewarding, both professionally and personally!
