"Emerald City" Networking Meeting
The DPC SIG will once again be participating in PMI's Networking Reception on Monday, 23 October from 5:30 - 7 PM in Ballroom 6ABCD. This year's theme is the "Emerald City." This exciting event is designed to allow PMI SIGs and Colleges to advertise and attract new members. The Networking Reception is also a great opportunity for SIG members to meet and mingle.

Call for Volunteers for the Project Management
Lexicon Project Team


The PMI® Project Management Lexicon Project Team seeks volunteers with specific skills for the
sub-team and manager roles described below.

Members for the Sub-Team for Translatability
The project seeks volunteers with strong English language skills who are native speakers of Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Chinese or Spanish.

Members of the Lexicon Data Storage
& Use Case Sub-Team
Volunteers are needed with skills in data modeling, understanding of lexicon structure and requirements, and database and/or user interface experience.

Lexicon configuration manager
The volunteer who serves in this position should be an expert in project configuration management and have excellent communication skills. The position may require periods of high activity.

The PMI Project Management Lexicon will define, unify and codify the terminology of the project management profession. It will enable practitioners and stakeholders across the globe to use project management terms consistently, precisely and with shared understanding. It will serve as a foundation and resource for other publications including PMI global standards and practice standards. It will elevate the project management profession and help it to grow.

Volunteer Opportunities

The DPC SIG is a volunteer-driven organization. We encourage our members to be actively involved in SIG activities and special projects by:

  • filling leadership positions within the organization: Vice Chairs, Deputies, Committee Members
  • contributing articles to The Project Management Standard newsletter
  • managing special projects
  • working on designated project activities, Local Interest Group (LIG) meetings and professional development conferences

Volunteer today. You will find it most rewarding, both professionally and personally!
