SIG Mission
The
mission of the DPC SIG is to provide participants with
the highest quality information, education, training,
skills and opportunities to successfully identify, plan,
manage, and participate in design, procurement and construction
projects involving buildings and facilities in the residential,
commercial and industrial sectors of the worldwide economy.
Action
Teams
There has been a revolution in the business of organizing
and managing Design-Procurement-Construction (DPC) in
the last few years. Our diverse and dispersed SIG Action
Teams are working on projects right now to:
- Support
member initiatives
- Research
and solve industry wide problems
- Develop
corporate support
- Support
corporate sponsors
- Explore
and perfect new methods of working
- Develop
and test new communications paradigms and
- Provide
technical training and support for members.
Objectives
- Demonstrate
and promote project management principles as the most
effective means for planning and managing projects.
- Establish
a worldwide network of project management professionals
in our industry.
- Provide
a forum for the free exchange of project management
ideas, solutions, experiences, and applications.
- Develop
and disseminate consistent and appropriate standards
of project management terminology, communications
and practice among PM professionals.
- Identify
and facilitate opportunities of all types for members
and member organizations.
- Provide
PM information and education to DPC SIG professionals
in industry, government and educational institutions
improving the overall delivery of processes and services
as well as the quality and value of completed projects.
